Winter Wonderland

Visited a few parks near where I live looking for stuff to photograph.

Christmas Lights

There's a large setup of Christmas lights playing music while the lights flash. I tried some shots with a wide open aperture and out of focus to get some nice bokeh.

Macro Monday: Focus Stacking

I found a few things around my room I thought might look good for trying out focus stacking. Some Eagle Scout Awards.
A couple coins from PRCCDC and NCCDC. The Highline College coin wasn't focus stacked, just used macro extension tubes and aimed straight down at it.

Sports Cards

I was going through some of my old stuff and found my sports card collection from when I was in middle school. I don't even like baseball of basketball very much but thought it was cool to get some of these. I remember hoping to get Michael Jordan.

Hapo "Over The River" Airshow 2016- Patriot Jet Team

Went to Clover Island in Kennewick for a nice view of the airshow. Some of my favorite photos of the Patriot Jet Team.

Mt St Helens: Part 2

Some of the photos I took while visiting Mt St Helens. I enjoyed using my 150-600mm lens for some nice close up shots of parts of the mountain.

Mt St Helens

An eight hour drive to go see but it was worth it. Driving up I got a peek at St Helens and got a few photos before arriving at the Windyridge Viewpoint. By the time I got there it was hidden by clouds. I hiked up the hill for a better view and waited for the clouds to clear out. I decided to do a time lapse while waiting and I think it turned out nice. This is probably my longest time lapse (about 17.5 min).

Fourth of July 2016

I got to go up into the hills around Richland and had a nice view of all the fireworks going off everywhere. My intention was to get shots of the fireworks on the river so I brought my 150-600mm lens. Waiting for the show to start I got some shots of all the fireworks going off around the tri-cities. I was on a deck with some other people watching which caused some vibration to mess with some of the photos and there was a small breeze (not much but with such a long lens...), plus a lot of the photos were taken around 300mm or longer. Wasn't too happy with the vibrations but some of the photos actually look kind of cool. So not exactly my best photos but still got a few nice ones. Next time I'll need a better tripod or be on more solid ground.

Yellowstone 2016

Visited family in Idaho and spent a couple days in Yellowstone.
Old Faithfull with a 600mm lens.
Some hot springs. In one of the photos in the bottom left corner you can see a white hat. It was very windy and there were lots of hats in the Grand Prismatic Springs area and an umbrella.
Some wildlife.
Some panoramas.
