Memorial Day 2016

Visited Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland WA. I heard they had set up around 1000 flags, I thought it would be the small ones but they had large ones (and small ones too).

Storm Clouds

A short gif taken during the storm Saturday. I wanted to get some lightning photos but they were in the clouds and not visible so I decided to make a time lapse of some clouds off in the distance using my 150-600mm lens. One day I will get one of those lightning triggers for daytime storms (night time storms are easier for me to capture lightning). I set it to play once instead of looping forever.

Madame Dorion Memorial Park

I was all caught up on homework and the weather was nice so I decided to visit this park. A lot of people were there for horseback riding. Didn't see much in the way of wildlife but there is a great spot overlooking Smiths Harbor that would be great for some sunrise photos.

Where Eagles Dare part 2

I went down to the river to get a time lapse of the clouds brushing the top of the mountains. While shooting I was looking around and noticed a large bird in a tree a fairly close by. As soon as I noticed the white head I immediately gave up on the time lapse and started making my way closer to the eagle. I got some shots before he flew off towards me and eventually he came back my way. So today was a good day. I've been wanting a day like this with a good close up of an eagle.

Snowflake

Had a couple days with some snowfall which had some decent looking snowflakes. I grabbed by macro reverse ring setup and a dark scarf for the snowflakes to land on and shot some photos. I tried the focus stacking in Photoshop CS6 and got some decent results, I've seen better but there's always room for improvement. Some of the photos really show how small the depth of field is when using the macro reverse ring. You also need a lot of light, most of these were shot at ISO 1600.

Lyons Ferry

Didn't have school today so I went to Lyons Ferry just down the river from Palouse Falls. I got there and it was closed plus you have to have a pass to get it which I didn't have. There was a wildlife habitat just up the road and I could see into the park.
There was a fish hatchery nearby so I went to investigate that area and got a nice view of the train bridge using my 8mm lens.
I spotted some deer along the road and stopped my car fairly close to them.
One last stop before going home. A shot of the bridge you cross to get to the park (looking north).
